I talk with authors who have just signed their first book contract and those who have many published books. I chat with authors with big successes (bestselling novels! Netflix deals!) and those with quieter achievements (like publishing with a small indie press after years of chasing the Big 5). I talk to authors of every genre, from kidlit to thrillers, from nonfiction to romance. Each episode is filled with fascinating stories and lots of great advice.
Some people might think gosh, stories about how hard it is to get published, that sounds depressing or discouraging, but I think the opposite. These stories show that everyone, even that successful author who seems to have it all, struggled to get where they are, and that you can get there, too – as long as you remember it might take time, a stubborn refusal to quit, and/or a readjustment of your expectations.
