    Good Morning,

I hope this email finds you in good spirits. My name is Arlen Fuentes, I have been writing since I was right years old and yesterday, May 4th, I completed the manuscript for my first novel. I am overwhelmed with emotion at the moment and I don’t know what to do, in terms of the next step which is finding an editor and writing a query letter, as I would like to submit it an agent or an independent publisher. I have no clue as to where to begin, please help me. I need your expertise on what to do next. I would really appreciate all of the advice you can give me. This novel has been a long time coming, and I want to give myself the best shot on getting it published.

Hi Arlen! Congratulations on finishing your manuscript! That in itself is a huge accomplishment. I would definitely recommend giving it to some beta readers if you haven’t already. Here is a post I wrote about what to do once you’ve finished your manuscript. http://evalangston.com/2018/04/14/finish-your-manuscript/ I hope it’s helpful, and let me know if you have any other questions!

    Hi Eva,

Thank you for your wonderful post, shared by Jane Friedman. https://www.janefriedman.com/what-i-learned-from-90-queries/.

I’ve followed your advice, and my query is SO much stronger. Including the twist is a great selling feature, and I love how you described your comp titles. A hopeful writer, I’m grateful for your help as an established author.

Wishing you all the best with your writing,

    Trish
